“Lady Oscar theme” jazz rendition – Michel Legrand

More magic from my favorite film composer, Michel Legrand. This is a jazzy rendition of a piece from one of Legrand’s lesser-known collaborations with director Jacques Demy, Lady Oscar (1979), a rather obscure and loose adaptation of the famous 1970s manga The Rose of Versailles. The film is no replacement for the manga or anime adaptation, and even on its own merits, it is awkwardly paced and acted, but the score is lovely and the costumes are great.
